I'm doing it now

There is no way in hell I'd spend $20k on it. I bought my house for $1.5M with 40 year old bathrooms in it. We do the work ourselves and I'm really good at finding materials inexpensively. Like for my Hansgrohe bath fixtures and Kohler sinks. I splurged a little on the Porcelanosa and Walker Zanger tile. Got the cabinets wholesale (very good Omega). Contracting out the frameless glass shower enclosure. And we're still only spending about $10k after going down from the studs and starting over.
How hideous is your bathroom now? If a buyer would walk in and say "ewwww" then you might have to fix it to sell in this market

Our knobs in our tub are completely stripped. The hot and cold knobs work fine but our bath/shower knob won't turn at all. I like taking baths but my husband likes taking showers. I really miss my long baths...lol. Where can I buy the knobs for not much money? Thank you.

    • Surprisingly some of the cheapest bathtub accessories can be found online. My suggestion would be to buy new knobs that have a metal insert to prevent stripping in the future. Your local hardware store usually has these in stock or a store such as Home Depot.

  • Avatar tiredbutwiredlove Why are brass/gold colored bath fixtures so hard to find?
Aug 22, 2007 by tiredbutwiredlove | Posted in Do It Yourself (DIY)

I have a brass/gold colored sink fixture and am trying to find shower fixtures and shower doors that match and am having no luck at Lowe's or Home Depot. The only seem to have silver and nickel. I have found some brass items online but they are over half the price of the same thing in the other colors. Why the high price as well?

    • Brass is an alloy metal - that is, it is made up of two or more metals. Usually its about 67% copper, and 33% zinc. That 67% copper is what has the price so high... aluminum is much cheaper.

Cost of copper has skyrocketed in recent years, to the point that even our pennies, in the … can plate anything from car trim, to bathroom fixtures. I'd suggest finding a company first, before buying the fixtures, to make sure the fixtures can be plated.

      Good Luck

I might get one, so I need to learn about them :) I mean things like plants, heater, food bowl, substrate exc.

    • First, visit Their caresheets and forums will make it all easier to understand. And there's lots of pics of many different people's setups!

Second, don't ask the pet store for advice. They are notorious for knowing next to nothing about reptile care, and what they DO know is often … I believe that is the essential list. I know it can be overwhelming at first, but once you get it set up and get a routine going, it gets easier and is sooo rewarding.

Remember to have your setup at home and stabilized before you bring home your dragon.

      Good luck!
